We are living in strange times, new times for most of us confined to our homes, having to learn new skills, like cooking from scratch, trying to stay busy, trying to keep from becoming too bored or anxious. It is kind of like being lost in a forest without having a compass, or knowing how to use it and the rain is beginning to fall. Uncertainty, not knowing what’s going to happen next, trying to protect ourselves from a virus that gives us little clue as to how it spreads – all the makings of an Epidemic of Fear.
Jesus said fear not, for I am with you. Many of us may need to rediscover the treasure trove of promises that have been given to us through the word of God. None of this is any surprise to the Most High God. He knows what He is doing to work ALL things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes. Rom. 8:28
For those of us who are trying to figure this out, what is true, and what is false, we must remember that in everything, there is a ‘plan within a plan’ and Nothing is as it Appears! Jesus reminds us to not make judgments based upon appearances. And for those of us TEMPTED to become angry and judgmental, our time is coming, but is not yet. We will judge angels in that DAY, but this in NOT that day. Wishing evil and judgment upon someone will only spoil our witness and distract us from the true propose to which we are called. Jesus said they will know you are my disciples by the love you have for one another.
THE ONLY RELIEF AND DELIVERANCE FROM THIS PLAGUE (SEE PSALM 91:19) IS CONFESSION OF OUR SINS AS A NATION AND REPENTANCE FOR OUR OWN PARTICIPATION IN THOSE SINS. Our ordinary days with our everyday activities and escapes have been pulled back to expose a hideous, indescribable depth of vial and astonishing atrocities committed against the innocent and helpless. The shedding of their blood by some among us who have been willing or forced to be participants in this cruelty and blood sacrificing must be addressed.
Human sacrificing, killing of babies in sacrifice to the pagan gods of old is not a new thing. The Bible records these practices even creeping into the people of God. The Old Testament is full of their betrayal of God and their infatuation lusting after the gods of this world who enticed them to sin even against one another, their own children and their own bodies. Deuteronomy 28 describes the degeneration of society and what happens to those who follow the angel of light.
Please, for your own eternal soul’s sake, for the sake of your children, and for the sake of freedom, join with many of us who have already joined with the prophets of old, Daniel 9:3-19, Jeremiah 5:20-31, and Nehemiah 1:4-11, to confess and repent of the sins of this nation and ask God for forgiveness. Then read King David’s prayer of thanksgiving, I Chronicles 29:10-19. God is not out to get us. He pleads with us as to pray and confess and repent so He can Judge this enemy.
Jeremiah, the lone voice for God in his day, after the people had gone into captivity for 70 years, said, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon ME and go and pray to ME, and I will listen to you, and you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jer. 29:11)
Thanks for doing all that you do to help so many. Especially in these strange times.
You’re welcome.
Margie what an excellent message. I will be sharing this with as many need to hear. Bless you and think of you and Pastor Jarry often.
Thank you, Louann!
Marjorie,
Can you direct us to a prayer of repentance of the blood shed on behalf of our ancestors?
